BitMex, a prominent peer-to-peer cryptocurrency trading platform, has made a significant announcement regarding the introduction of options trading for popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH), and others. This partnership with PowerTrade, a mobile crypto trading platform, has allowed traders to buy or sell specific assets at predetermined prices in the future.
The newly launched platform has been designed to meet the highest industry standards for security and performance, making it particularly appealing to institutional traders. Mario Gomez Lozada, the CEO of PowerTrade, emphasized the advantages of BitMEX’s extensive market liquidity and PowerTrade’s technology that caters to traders’ needs. By collaborating, they aim to provide traders with a seamless and high-performing trading experience, offering reliable and efficient tools for serious traders.
BitMex Makes Exciting Move with Options Trading
BitMex exchange recently took to its X (formerly Twitter) account to announce the expansion of its offerings. This includes the introduction of options trading, allowing users to engage in a wide range of crypto options margined in Bitcoin, USDT, or USDC. To make the offer even more enticing, BitMex revealed that all options would have zero trading fees, and users who deposit $1000 or more throughout May will receive an instant 20 USDC bonus upon signing up.
After the promotional period, BitMEX’s options trading fees will align with its current spot trading fees. This move is part of BitMEX’s plan to seamlessly integrate the options platform into its existing ecosystem, providing users with a consistent and predictable cost model when trading various digital assets.
It’s worth noting that all options on BitMEX will be priced and settled in USDC, the second-largest stablecoin in the market. In addition to Bitcoin and Ethereum, users can also trade options on other cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin, Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), and Binance Coin (BNB).
In 2022, PowerTrade partnered with the British custody company Copper to offer custodial services to institutions. Following this, BitMEX and PowerTrade formed a strategic partnership in December 2023 with the goal of enhancing the trading experiences of professional players.
